{i'm in love}
After on the left, before (with Chloe) on the right :)
With my newly recovered chairs :) They are a set with a cute little cafe table on my front porch, and the regular fabric that came on them was not weather friendly or pretty IMO. So, I found an adorable vinyl tablecloth at Kmart (for $3!) and recovered them. I'm so happy with how they turned out. Shabby chic and very girly. :) I think I will use the remaining cloth to make a few pillows for my swing and/or cover the top of the bench I use as a coffee table on the porch.
Some fun and exciting news...my Grandma is moving closer to me in a week! My grandparents lived 5 hours away from me my entire life, and with my Grandpa passing away a few years ago and my Grandma's health failing, she is moving to a nursing home near my parents. I'm sad that she isn't as healthy as she used to be, but she is 93, so that happens. I can't wait to see her and give her a big hug!! :)
Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

{spring cleaning and new treasures}
Yesterday I did some spring and rearranging in my scrapbook room. It feels so good to walk in there and see a clean floor and desk! I got the cute lamp at an antique shop on Saturday...I painted the wooden parts white and added the cute green shade...$10 for the entire thing!
My organized albums and supplies...I have my stickers and other goodies in labeled binders. I think I need to add a new binder soon though, they are getting very full!
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!!

{today}
So today I got some fun things done. I organized my buttons by color....kind of OCD I know. :) But, it looks pretty and makes it much easier when I want to use a certain color.
I made this fun button covered "M" too...I've had it for a long time now and finally decided it would look pretty covered in white buttons. Now I have to decide where it will look best!
My Grandmother recently moved to a nursing home and my parents have been cleaning out her house before it is sold. I'm so lucky and blessed to have these hankerchiefs that are hers, and these milk glass pieces also. I love the big bowl and the little fluted dish below.
This photo is of my Great Grandmother Mattie...she was so pretty! I made this frame using scrapbook paper and a metal clip. I thought it would be fun to be able to change out the photo easily with the clip.
I have beef stew in the crock pot right now and the house smells sooo good. It will be ready in less than an hour...can't wait! Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday!

{friendship?}
Recent events have me questioning if an internet friendship is really a true friendship. I have been a regular member of a message board now for about five years, and have created some great friendships on there. One of which I really enjoyed and always looked forward to chatting with her. She recently had a baby, and it was so fun to see the progress of her pregnancy, and how she had decorated her nursery. Because of some mean and jealous girls, she was given no choice but to leave the message board (very personal information about her was posted, along with awful statements about her as a person). She has also deleted all of her "friends" from this message board from her myspace page, including me. While I can understand her feelings, I can't help but be hurt that I was included in those that were "cut" out of her online life. We've been chatting since before our weddings, which were a week apart, and I even contributed to her baby shower gift. I guess I need to realize that we aren't true friends, just strangers on a message board. Maybe I'm taking this so hard because I don't have a really close girlfriend in real life. We have exchanged email addresses, but I would be naive to think that we'll really keep in touch. I was so excited to see pictures of her new little girl and hear about what motherhood is like, but I think I will just leave her alone for now and let her enjoy her new family. I guess this just proves that the internet is not the best place to create friendships.

{home*sweet*home}
Some fun random pictures of things I love in our house. The shadow our chandelier makes on teh ceilng at night is so whimsical...I love to sit and look at it. A few pictures of my favorite things in our kitchen...the colorful measuring cups are from Anthropologie. Two of my beloved magazines...Domino and Home Companion. Finally, an update on my stair renovation project...the railing is painted! What a tedious project! Next step is to sand all of those stairs...wish me luck!!
