{new digs}

So I thought I would post the stats on the new digs...

(isn't it cute?!?!)

3 bedrooms

1 1/2 baths (half bath can be easily made into a full)

Kitchen/family room combo (loooove this)

Fireplace

Dining room

Rec room (perfect for our treadmill, computer and just a general play room for the boys)

Laundry room right off the kitchen (heaven!)

Garage AND driveway (double heaven!)

Nice big yard with lots of trees

Minutes away from our local park

Secluded but super close to shopping (and dangerously close to Starbucks)

I'm already decorating every room in my mind, but I know it will be a long process. The only thing that needs to be changed right away is the carpet in the kitchen...who does that?!
I'm going to take some photos when we do the inspection so I'll be sure to post more!

{offer accepted!}

Holy crap.

I really think I'm going to be sick now.

Super excited about the house, but super scared about the work that now has to begin.

Keep those prayers coming!

(At least I got our taxes done tonight while we were waiting for the news!)

{insane}

That's pretty much what I would call us right now. We made an offer on a house tonight. And ummm...our house isn't even on the market. Yep...we're insane. But the house is toooo perfect for us, the price is amazingly low, and our bunglow, while cute and charming, just doesn't work for us anymore.

I think I'm going to be sick.

Please pray this all works out for us!

{translation}

So I'm posting what I'm wearing for the 3rd day in a row. Mostly because I'm excited to be wearing the third and final new necklace I just bought from Forever 21. And I guess also because there is a little bit of narcissist in all of us.

I had to rush to get dressed this morning, but I was determined to wear it, so this is what I came up with from what I could find quickly in my closet.

Black tee from Walmart, teal cardigan from Elder Beerman (its maternity...shhh :), grey pants from JCPenney (also maternity...double shhhh) and black suede flats that I really love from Elder Beerman...they have the cutest scalloped detail.

{And as a side note, I don't know how this cardigan could be considered "maternity." It barely covered my belly for the first few months. I wear it more now than I ever did when I was pregnant. And these pants are really cute so I still wear them...the elastic waist is super comfy and helps hide the baby bloat I'm still trying to lose}

So back to my ensemble...I thought it would be fun today to do a "what would this outfit look like as a room" post, in honor of Domino magazine. I always thought it was so interesting to see how they translated an outfit into an interior design. So here is what I think my outfit today would look like as a room...in a few different choices because I couldn't pick just one. :)

I think this kitchen is my favorite...the chandelier is a great translation of my necklace, and the stainless steel echos my grey pants.

This is just about the most chic office ever.

And this bedroom is so tranquil. I love the simplicity of the accessories.

I might try to do this once a week with my outfits...kind of fun I think. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

{just a little bit}

Today I'm sporting just a *little bit* of color with my Forever 21 aqua beads. The rest of my outfit is typical for me...grey, black and tan. Wearing a long sleeved cowl neck tee from Target, long black cardigan from Kohl's and my tan corduroy skirt, black chevron tights and black boots.

It is a cold day here after a warm spell yesterday so I felt like bundling up. About ready to make some coffee to help ward off the chill.

And no flip today in the hair. I think it has a split personality.

{color}

I've been wanting to experiment with accessories and more color lately, and I've been getting some inspiration from a few fellow bloggers including the girls over at Academichic, D'Rae from Slices of Life and Kimberly from Fab Finds Under $50.

I always go for brown and grey when clothes shopping, especially for basics like pants and cardigans, but that leaves room for colorful accessories. Today I'm trying out a jade green and eggplant purple combo. May not be so exciting for those who are more daring in their fashion choices, but this is a departure for me. What do you think?

Necklace and cardigan - Forever 21 clearance
Jade green top - Kohl's on sale of course

Oh, and my hair decided to flip out perfectly today. Bonus!

{latest}

My latest obsessions is brooches....I have quite a few in my Etsy favorites and I purchased this one from fellow Etsy-er Morgan Melim a few weeks back. I love it...the colors go with so many different tops in my closet.

What is your latest obsession? Accessories or otherwise. ;)

{posting}

I was revamping the look of the blog a little, and noticed that my settings only allowed posts from google subscribers. Soo....that is now changed and anyone should be able to post. Maybe that will bring out a few lurkers? :)

{weekend}

I joked to the hubs on Friday night, as we had a nice Valentine's Day dinner without the boys, that we go on more dates now than before we were parents.

We are very blessed to have so many willing babysitters for the boys. My parents watched them on Friday night so we could go out, and the hub's mom watched them Saturday for a few hours so we could have some alone time. Of course that was partly spent buying baby food at Meijer, but whatever.

We also exchanged our Valentine's Day gifts, well, sort of. The hubs got a couple fun Etsy finds...some beer soap, yes BEER soap.

Perfect for him.

And to continue with the booze theme, a bottle opener with a picture of Jackie Robinson, one of his favorite baseball players.

He hadn't had time to go out to get a gift for me, so on our way around town, we stopped at Cracker Barrel, so he could buy me a mug that I had been eyeing. I waited in the car to make it a bit more exciting. LOL :) Oh how things change once you have babies. I'm a simple girl and I love my mug.

I also found some great deals this weekend at Dillards...huge clearance sale. I got a new winter coat...super cute grey wool Kenneth Cole number marked down to $38!

And this green 3/4 sleeve sweater for $12 marked down from $65! Score!

And in very exciting baby news...Ben is getting his first tooth!! The jagged edges are just above the gums. Poor little guy was so fussy all weekend. Hopefully today it will pop through and he'll get some relief!

We also got a couple house projects done on Saturday thanks to help from my mother-in-law. The hubs hung up the bamboo roman shade in the living room that we've had waiting in the corner for a few months now. I love the way it looks. It really finished the window. You can also see off the the left a metal basket hanging on the wall. I've been wanting to hang it for a few weeks now to store our gloves and the boys' hats. Such a simple thing but such a big difference getting everything in one place, and up off the floor.

It was a great weekend...productive and full of love. Hope yours was the same!

{gone}

I was disappointed when I heard the Domino magazine was shutting its doors.

I was depressed when I found out Cottage Living had gone under.

And now I'm downright sad that Home Companion is gone as well.

What's a girl to do without her three favorite magazines?

I guess I've still got Lucky. Or do I?

{faves}

Just wanted to share a few of my favorite things lately...

My new snack obsession: spinach and artichoke tortilla chips from Archer Farms. I could eat the whole bag at one sitting. Good think we don't have a Target close by! (did I just say that?!)

I love this cardigan over at Plasticland...so feminine and springy!

With Valentine's Day right around the corner I'm in love with this felt mailbox and note set from Uncommon Goods. So cute!

And I'm sooo in love with how much Landon looks like me when I was a baby. My Mom brought over some pictures and there is quite a resemblance! :)

Happy Tuesday! Mine has been rough so far but I guess that only leaves room for improvement!

{*sale!*}

The Valentine's Day items in my shop are now on sale! I can't guarantee shipment by the big day, but if you are a local Richmond friend, you could pick your purchase up just in time to give it to your sweetie on Saturday! Or, buy something to put away for next year!

I have three super cute felt Valentine cozies that are the perfect size for some chocolates, a love note, a shiny bauble, or one of my button brooches!

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. There is something about the mixture of love, chocolate and pink and brown that tugs and my heartstrings!

The first hour of my morning was spent feeding and rocking my sweet Benny back to sleep. I couldn't ask for anything better. Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

{holy cute!}

OK, I stole that saying from Elsie Flannigan. But I don't know any other way to describe these!

Yes, those are CANDY buttons! Made from this mold! I must have!!

{*that* mom}

Before I had children, I always thought it was strange when mothers would say how they were sad that their babies were growing, and missed when they were infants. I always thought "I would never be THAT mom." Well, let me just say that I'm now a member of the "that mom" club.

The boys turned 8 months this past Friday, and for some reason 8 months sounds SO much older than 7 months. SO much closer to their first birthday. I'm excited about them becoming more independent, but sad that they will never be those cuddly little babies again. It is such a strange mix of emotions. Look how cute they are getting...I just can't stand it! :)

They are doing new things at such a quick rate and it is hard to keep up with it all. Landon is starting to blabber a lot and says "dada" and "mama" although I don't think he really knows what they mean yet. Ben is finally eating from a spoon like a champ, and he is such a ham. Whenever you get the camera out he stops what he's doing and smiles for you.

One big milestone is that Landon graduated from his infant car seat over the weekend. This one really got to me. He looks like such a big boy in it! And so proud of himself.

They are both sitting up pretty well also, Landon a little bit better than Ben. We think Landon's big booty helps with that. And look at his big belly!

And as much as I say I don't want them to grow up too fast, I'm already super excited about their 1st birthday party. I've already picked out a theme and I've been researching decorations and invitations. I've decided on a circus theme and there are so many cute ideas out there!

I found this link and LOVE everything about this party. SO cute!

We have a great local park so I think we'll have it there in one of the shelters. Some ideas I have for the decor:

I have to have this!

And these cups are too cute!

These would make really cute favors.

And popcorn on each table in these.

Can you tell I'm just a little excited?!
