I've been working on a new design theme for Landon's room for awhile now. Ever since we got this framed (and autographed!) Ben Harper poster...
I knew that I wanted to design his room around it.
First of all, Ben's room is designed around a Ben poster as well...
And they both are named after the guy, (Landon's middle name is Harper) so it only makes sense, right? And they are both, but especially Landon, OBSESSED with guitars and music.
The only problem is that the poster is RED. I'm not much of a red girl.
But it has forced me to look outside of my comfort zone, which is always a good thing. And one day when perusing the aisles of Hobby Lobby with my sister-in-law, she spotted these awesome canvases...
Perfect, right?
And even though they have lots of black in them, they also work with the already brown walls, which is a HUGE bonus since we just painted them a year ago. so with those art pieces to go on, I was well on my way to a guitar themed big boy (that will be 2 in less than a week!!!) room.
Here is my plan:

Obvioulsy a trip to IKEA is needed in the very near future. Right now his room consists of his crib and a useless bookcase. It is a sad state of affairs. Ben's room houses their shared dresser, but it is full to overflowing so I can't wait to add a second set of drawers to hold all of their clothes.
The two square album frames are from Walmart ($10 for the pair) and I'll be using a few of Dan's album covers to fill them. Can't beat free art!
Neither of the boys have attempted to escape their cribs yet, but we both feel the need to move them to big boy beds soon, and instead of doing the toddler bed thing we're just going to go straight to twins (I think) with a protective rail of course. The twin bed pictured here from IKEA is a great deal (at $40!) and is made of solid wood.
The dresser, well, I just love the design. It is perfect for a future rock-and-roll star's room.
I can't wait to put this plan into action...stay tuned for a progress report and, of course, photos!
Love the artwork with the guitar and drum set!
