{white out}

 The fireplace got a teeny tiny face lift over the weekend. I took the mantle from this...

To this...

Amazing what a few coats of white paint can do! I think the brick wants in on this white action as well. What do you think?

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start!

  3. Much better, Mandy! I would hesitate to put white paint on the bricks if you are leaving your walls white too; it will make the fireplace disappear. What about a fun color? A friend of mine once painted her fireplace plum and I was terrified until I saw it all done. It was beautiful and just what she needed to complete her room.

  4. Thanks Melissa! We're actually planning on painting the walls...they were white when we moved in. Just can't figure out what color. :)

  5. I would paint the walls before you paint the fire place. Depending on what you go with on the walls, you may want to leave the brick exposed.

  6. Thanks Renee - that is a good tip! I'm pretty sure we are going to paint it white, but no clue yet on the wall color. Every surface in that room is going to be painted by the time we are done. :)

  9. Love the white mantle! I would paint the walls before the fireplace just because the walls are easier to change your mind about.
