{our fall mantel}

Is it just me, or is there a defining moment between when you can't stand the sight of fall decorations to the moment when you want to throw pumpkins on every surface in the house?

Well, there is for me, and it hit over the weekend. :)

I only decorate a few areas of our house for holidays...usually the front porch, entryway, the dining room table, and the fireplace mantel. Today I want to share what I came up with this yesterday for our fireplace mantel...

I added a few fall colored accessories to spruce up my chevron art...some yarn flowers that I whipped up Sunday while the boys were napping, a cute new owl that I picked up at TJ Maxx, a simple burlap pennant banner, and some fall colored berries.

I thought my new owl might want a little yarn accessory of his own...

The yarn flowers were super simple...

 Just some yarn pom poms, sticks from our yard, and hot glue!

And the garland supplies included burlap, scrapbooking letters, glue and yarn. Easy peasy!

I'll share our dining room table centerpiece and my other decorations in another post. Did you do any fall decorating over the weekend? I'd love to see it!

  1. It looks fantastic... I love it! I haven't caught the bug yet... still no sign of fall in my house yet. :-)

  2. I love all the elements of this mantle - simple and classic. I haven't gotten any fall decor out yet - not feeling like it this year. I may just do a table centerpiece and a wreath and call it a day!

  11. I usually feel the itch to decorate for the fall during Labor Weekend though my dh tries to get me to wait until the 1st day of fall.

    I also try to wait until the beginning of October to decorate for Halloween to enjoy each set of decorations.

  14. I love your fall decor. You are so right...I have that same moment from not being able to stand the idea of decorating for fall because it's too hot out to going full blown the other way. I am visiting from Centsational Girl. I would love for you to come and link up to my Fall into Fall party that opens tonight at 8pm EST. Hope to see you there.
