Happy Monday friends! I hope your week is off to a happy start and you are fully caffeinated to start the day! I have some fun new products available that I wanted to share with you. All I have to say is NOTEBOOKS!! Ahh!
OK so if you aren't a stationery junkie like me you might not appreciate this. BUT I am obsessed with cute notebooks and it has been a dream of mine to have my artwork on the cover of one. So when I discovered Redbubble a few days ago, and saw they had the option of spiral and hard bound notebooks, I uploaded some of my artwork right away. And then ordered some samples because...I mean it was a no-brainer. When they came in the mail over the weekend I decided what better time to do my first Facebook live video to share them with my friends. You can check it out here.
Aren't they fun? I really, really love the graph paper print and pockets in the back! Redbubble has a big selection of products to choose from too, like tops...
And some of the same items I have in my Society6 shop including mugs and tote bags.
But I basically created this shop solely for the notebooks. Don't they just make me want to doodle and make all sorts of lists? They are offering 20% off today too if you want a little Monday pick-me-up! XO,
I finished a custom illustration last night and I'm really in love with how happy and colorful it turned out. It is for a friend's daughter to hang in her dorm room when she starts college this fall. I remember babysitting her when she was like...ummm 5? So yep...feeling old! Here are a few process photos...
And the final piece!
I don't typically use so many bold colors in my illustrations, but this piece has convinced me I should more often! I used Spectrum Noir markers and the extra fine messy pen on this piece. I'll be adding it as a print to my online shops soon! XO,
We are a month into our kitchen reno and I thought it was time to share an update with photos! I wish I could say it is finished...but it is well on it's way and for that I'm going to say thank you and keep practicing patience! (Although eating off of paper plates is getting OLD.) Here is my last post with the before photo (ack!) and lots of inspiration images and the plan. But in case you want to see that before again...
And here are the progress photos!
We had a new window installed which provided a much bigger before and after than we imagined! Worth every penny.
I'm really proud of Dan for getting the pieces for our island ready for the contractors. He painted the cabinets and has painted countless coats of sealer on the butcher block counter. Here it is temporarily put together so we could get an idea of how it will fit in the space...
The island will house our cooktop and have an extra piece of counter added to the back to accommodate stools. It will also have a surround added to cover the base cabinets that we'll be painting turquoise. The awesome cabinet with the pull out drawers was a super lucky Goodwill find, and we grabbed the slim cabinet from the clearance section at IKEA (we'll be adding shelves inside). They were mismatched colors so Dan painted them both white which really pulls it together. The butcher block top is also from IKEA. And umm how perfect is that Raskog cart nestled in the middle? I'm dying. Can't wait to see it finished! Next week is supposed to be counter install, which will then lead to the sink and hopefully back to a functioning kitchen very soon after that! Eek! SO ready to stop using those red solo cups. It looks like a 24/7 frat party at our house! XO,
A few weeks ago I was asked by my friend Lori at Luxe Lizzies Boutique here in Richmond, Indiana, to handletter a chalkboard sign for her shop.
She had already trusted me with her store windows so I guess it only made sense to keep giving me things to draw on! She wanted the sign to be weather proof, so even though it was a chalkboard she asked me to use permanent paint pen instead of chalk or chalk markers. Makes total sense, but whew did that up my anxiety level since every mark I made on her adorable chalkboard was 100% permanent. Here are a few in progress photos...
And here is how it turned out...
I created the same design on both sides using paint pens and a gold sharpie (which looks SO good on the black). And look at those doodled windows in the background! Proud girl over here. Lori loves it and I am really happy with how it stands out and adds a fun vibe to her already awesome shop. Hope to do more projects like this down the road! XO,
Happy hump day friends! Whew...how are you doing this week? I must say I'm a bit frazzled but hanging in there. It has been awhile since I shared an update on my #100daysofyourtruth project. I'm over halfway through...isn't that crazy? I've completed 55 projects in hmmm...about 60 days...super proud of that! Here are a few of my most recent favorites. You can see them all here.
Hope the second half of your week is fabulous! XO,
