I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I have been avoiding a lot of the news about the earthquake in Haiti.
I tend to avoid things that I know will bring out all of those scary emotions, especially seeing photos of injured, or worse, deceased, children. I can't bring myself to look at or read about the horror those poor people are facing.
I also must be honest and say that I have a hard time donating my money to charitable causes of any kind with how tight our money is these days. Selfish? Yes, absolutely, and I'm not proud of it. But I know that I'm not the only one who has a hard time fathoming that this is a REAL situation that actual people are experiencing.
And just this morning when I was thinking about how I need to let go of my selfish tendencies, take off my blinders, and do something, I read this.
And then I went here...
Hope for Haiti
Some wonderful artists have donated goods and services for a raffle to raise money for the people of Haiti. I encourage you to visit like I did and participate in the raffle - even $1 can make a difference! And if you have something you can donate to their raffle, I'm sure they would welcome it!
I know that I could do so much more, but this is a start. Won't you join me?

{make it work!}

Oh Tim Gunn, how I have missed you! (And Heidi, you too, I guess.)
If you live in a cave and still don't know what I'm blabbering about...Project Runway season 7 starts tonight!!!
It hasn't been very long since season 6 wrapped up because of all the drama between Bravo and Lifetime, so I'm really excited that I can get my PR fix again. Especially since I was totally disappointed in the season 6 winner.
And I heard that Michael Kors will be judging every episode this time around, instead of all of the guest judges like last season - definitely should help with the continuity and hopefully fairness in judging! I missed his hilarious comments last season, like “She looks like Barefoot Appalachain Lil' Abner Barbie.” That man sure does know his fashion.

It is already set to record on our DVR in case the boys don't behave tonight...but hopefully I can have a full uninterrupted hour of fashion, cat fights, anorexic models and of course, Tim!
Who's watching with me?!

{stop!}

Boy am I missing my boys today...some days I wish I could trade places with their dad and spend a few days just Landon, Ben, and their momma.
Thank goodness for their wonderful daddy who sends me pictures of them on a daily basis. He sent me this one today of them waving to me from the couch. Yeah...my heart melted.

They are doing so many new things every day that I'm missing. This is SUCH a fun age and I wish I could stop time and keep them at 19 months for at least a little while longer. I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that in less than 5 months I will have two 2-year-olds!
What a bittersweet thought.
While I am looking forward to big boy beds (and hopefully boys who sleep like big boys), easier meal times, fewer (and some day no!) diapers, talking and everything else that comes along with 2, I'm really going to miss this cuddly, super fun age.

But I am kind of excited about planning their next birthday party. I'm thinking maybe a rock star theme...
