I had SO much fun with the boy's superhero birthday party. Thanks to a lot of inspiration and ideas from Pinterest, I came up with a super {pun intended} fun cake and candy table, lots of superhero decorations around the house, and their very own gotham city to pose with for pictures.
When guests arrived they were greeted with a super 4 on the front door {made out of posterboard and lots of these!}...
A special message on the chalkboard...
And a superhero bunting going up the stairs...
And then the real fun started with the cake and candy table! I used lots of inspiration from my Pinterest board for the cupcakes and candy bar...
The cupcake toppers were a DIY project using clipart, a circle punch,
scrapbook paper and lollipop sticks...
The fireplace was all decked out with lots of DIY touches including superhero
bunting, another big polka dot 4, and their very own super shield...

The shield was another posterboard project, with some more of the
round label stickers around the edges and glitter stars.

The gift table received more of the super treatment...
And now for one of the boys' favorite things...their very own gotham city!
I took a huge cue from this pin to make the city, and the boys had fun helping me arrange all of the windows on the buildings. This was made completely with dollar store posterboard, and the background is a roll of wrapping paper.
Guests were given a big basket full of masks, signs, and superhero shields {made out of paper plates and glitter stars} so they could strike a pose...
And we had a lot of fun with it...
It is actually still up on our wall as I'm typing this. :) I think it will be making
the move to the boys' playroom so they can keep enjoying it.
So that was their party! It was by far my favorite of their birthday parties so far. Not sure how I can top it next year, but I'll sure try!

I just love your wonderful pictures and ideas, so creative. I have a few questions, where did u get the great straws? Where did u get the cool comic book word pin ups, did u make them or download them from a site? did u make the cool banner with super hero comic book pictures from a real comic book or did you buy pages? I would love to reproduce some of you wonderful ideas. www.kidsncoupons.com

Awww, very nice photos and it seems like a fun birthday celebration. a suggestion here, I think printable birthday invitations are very nice alternative for personalized invitations so you can come up with your own free designs.
LOVE everything. Where is the Super Hero Bunting from? thanks!!
I love your party! I'm actually thinking about throwing my boys (3 & 1). Where did you get the super hero bunting from? That's probably one of the hardest things I couldn't find!
@Kaycee - I actually made the bunting and it was super easy. I did a google search for vintage superhero images, printed them, and then cut them into the pennant shapes using my paper cutter. Then I just used my hole punch to punch holes in all of the corners and strung ribbon through. Hope this helps! :)
Thank you Mandy! I found your pinterest board and it's so helpful. I totally have a girl crush on your life!
This is amazing!! I want to do this for my son's 5th bday next year. Love it!!

great stuff! how did you make the captain america shield? tks!
Love the Gotham city photo backdrop. The kids would have so much fun with this, and it looked amazing :-)
Such a lovely superhero themed party! I was seeking inspirations to host a superhero bash and from your post got many ideas. First of all, will book popular domestic kids’ party venues Chicago to host the event and then will look for other things.
