{friendship?}
Recent events have me questioning if an internet friendship is really a true friendship. I have been a regular member of a message board now for about five years, and have created some great friendships on there. One of which I really enjoyed and always looked forward to chatting with her. She recently had a baby, and it was so fun to see the progress of her pregnancy, and how she had decorated her nursery. Because of some mean and jealous girls, she was given no choice but to leave the message board (very personal information about her was posted, along with awful statements about her as a person). She has also deleted all of her "friends" from this message board from her myspace page, including me. While I can understand her feelings, I can't help but be hurt that I was included in those that were "cut" out of her online life. We've been chatting since before our weddings, which were a week apart, and I even contributed to her baby shower gift. I guess I need to realize that we aren't true friends, just strangers on a message board. Maybe I'm taking this so hard because I don't have a really close girlfriend in real life. We have exchanged email addresses, but I would be naive to think that we'll really keep in touch. I was so excited to see pictures of her new little girl and hear about what motherhood is like, but I think I will just leave her alone for now and let her enjoy her new family. I guess this just proves that the internet is not the best place to create friendships.

Mandy,
that is so sad!! Maybe she just needs time, or maybe she is unsure who to trust right now!! That's too bad some people are so mean.....I don't understand it...hope things work out..Staci
I've been there. Now I get scared about all of my net friends. It sometimes ends up being *friendships of convenience*. If you don't meet in real life.. it's almost like you're not a real person. I have one friend online, that would break my heart if she did that. The rest, it would hurt.. but I'm more guarded. Maybe call her. Time isn't necessarily the big healer in net friendships. kwim? Sometimes time passing, cements the problem. At least, in my personal experience. If she matters... just call. Maybe she just hit delete, to get rid of the majority.. and didn't mean to get rid of you. Maybe reaching out will show her that she means more to you than just *a net friend*. That's my take. Whatever you decide.. good luck. And I'm sorry you got hurt. :(
I'm sorry about that! It has happened to me also and it is very hard!
that is really sad. i've only been in that situation once and it was so hard! i think the best thing you can do is keep being your sweet self! :) people are just people.... kwim?
