Coffee Talk

If we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that whatever you are struggling with, you may think you can't handle, but you are most certainly qualified.

I would tell you that you are growing and learning, and through this hard stuff you are becoming even more of the person you are meant to be.

I would tell you to keep moving forward, to remember to take deep breaths, and to not feel guilty for that extra dash of cream and sugar in your cup.

Wishing you an encouraging, cozy, and joy-filled Friday friends!

XO,

Magic Latte

When I asked my coffee this morning if we were going to make it to the weekend...

Cheers friends!

You know I can't not celebrate National Coffee Day!

And one interesting fact about me...I can literally nap right after drinking coffee. I know...such a talent.

Yesterday at the coffee shop I was literally nodding off while drinking a latte.

I should join the circus or something.

Cheers!

{in my sketchbook}

I had a few spare minutes on my lunch break yesterday, and the weather was gorgeous, so I decided to stop in the park and doodle for a bit. As I drove along looking for a place to stop, I asked God for a bit of inspiration because nothing was coming to me. A few minutes before I found a spot in front of the pond this one popped into my head...

And here it is with some color added...

I'm always extra thankful for divine help in the inspiration department.

And coffee in the morning.

{hello friday}

Thank goodness it is Friday, am I right?!

This week has just dragged. Has it for you too? I think it is partly because I'm so looking forward to the weekend. Fall weather is here and tomorrow there is a big festival in our town with handmade vendors, food and activities for the boys.

My definition of a perfect fall Saturday.

What are you looking forward to this weekend?

{hello friday}

Happy Friday friends!

Whew...did you make it through the week?

It has been a strange one for us...adjusting to our first real summer break with the boys. Figuring out work schedules and when the boys need a sitter. But the sleeping in...oh the sleeping in. Just that extra half hour in the morning on work days is heavenly for me.

Here's a little peek at our past week!

The boys' had their 6th birthday party on Saturday...
We did some dinosaur digging on the patio...
No one is safe from Nerf darts around our house...
I did some more nature doodling...
And some Stitch Fix wearing...
Landon and I put together some backyard bouquets. He brought me a pill bottle for his which was the cutest/funniest thing...
A little more doodling...
The boys had their 6-year check-up...they think the blood pressure cuff is so hilarious...
And I started my morning with an iced coffee at work...only way to start a Friday!
Dan has been making big batches and pouring it into mason jars so we have one ready to go in the morning...he is a keeper, that one.

What did your week look like?

Linking up with...

{Starbucks iced coffee at home}

It is no secret that I love coffee.

And now that the weather has warmed up here in Hoosier land, I'm craving iced coffee nearly 24/7. My drink of choice is a {ready for this?} grande iced decaf non-fat 6-pump vanilla latte.

Yummmmm.

But I don't have the moohlah to run to Starbucks whenever I please to drop $4.50 on one. So I decided to put together a quick and easy iced "latte" of my own at home...

All you need are three ingredients...

1. A Starbucks Via iced coffee packet
2. Coffee-mate vanilla creamer {or your favorite brand/flavor}
3. Cold water and lots of ice

I began by filling my mug up about 1/2 full with cold water, and then added about 3/4 of the Starbucks Via packet and mixed it up. Then I added the vanilla creamer until it was the light brown color of my perfect mug of coffee {I like a little coffee with my creamer}. Finally I filled the mug up the rest of the way with ice cubes.

Then I popped in a straw, and took it to the patio to relax with my favorite orange cat and a new bottle of nail polish...

Do you have a favorite warm weather drink?

Tell me about it...and better yet...leave the recipe in the comments so we can try it!

{first video blog!}

Happy Weekend friends!

So today I did something that I had been contemplating for awhile but hadn't gotten up the nerve to do. A video blog!

{I refuse to call it a vlog because it just sounds funny...and like I have a lisp or a spelling problem} :)

So without further ado...a little video about the things I'm loving this week...

And if you don't want to watch dorky old me on video, here is a little recap:

1. Nap time = lovely me time
2. Happy hair {I used this tutorial}
3. New IKEA shelf!
4. yummy coffee
5. yummier lotion

What are you loving this weekend?

{love list}

 Happy Friday Friends!

It is a GORGEOUS fall day here in Indiana and I'm feeling very blessed and grateful today. So how about a little love list to kick off the weekend?

1. The new Smash line from K&Co...

Oh my little scrapbooker's heart about exploded when I saw these amazing new books. Life has been way too hectic the past year or so to scrapbook but I think if I had one of these in my pretty little hands it would seem doable. The books come with a pen/glue stick and have pre-printed pages with fun graphics. I can't wait to get my hands on one!

2. This adorable spoon from Jessica N Designs...

I would love to have this cute little number to stir my morning coffee.

3. This quote...

"At the end of the day and at the end of my life, I want to know that I contributed more than I criticized."

Another excerpt from Brene Brown's blog. Love her. {here is the entire post}

4.  This cute fall art idea from my friend Mandie...

Isn't it adorable? I think I need to do this with the boys.

5. And finally but certainly not least...OCTOBER!

 {my favorite autumn tree in the parking lot at work}

Ahh how I love this month. I got engaged and married in this lovely month {8 years married on the 11th!}. This month of bright orange trees and clear blue skies...sweaters and boots...pumpkins and apple cider. I don't see how a month could get any lovelier.

The weather here is supposed to be beautiful all weekend so I'm excited about spending a lot of time outside with the boys and hopefully take a trip to the orchard. What are you loving today?
