{boys' bedroom makeover}

Oooh I'm so super excited to finally be sharing the boys' bedroom makeover with you today!

It has been quite a process and the first really DONE room in the house which makes me so happy. Even if the rest of the house is a complete disaster, I can sneak away to their room and act like my entire house is this cute and clutter free.

So here are the photos and I'll have a source list at the end!
I thrifted this cute cubby shelf from Goodwill and painted it red, then let the boys fill it up with all sorts of treasures. The photos are taken with my Instax camera and hung with fun washi tape.
This wall is my absolute favorite. I folded laundry in there today just to give myself a pretty view.
Aren't the arrow decals so much fun?
The hoop art is one of my favorites of the boys' old t-shirts and some felt...super easy!
My Mom thrifted the light-up globe AND the tin #2 for me. She is the best.
The instagram canvases were a fun DIY project.
Another DIY project was this palette art...
And this post wouldn't be complete without my goofy Benny striking a pose...
They love their new room and that made the work all worth it.
Source list:

  • Bed, bedding, toy box & hamper: IKEA
  • Dresser, globe, #2, cubby shelf: Thrifted
  • Map print & red ampersand (painted red): Hobby Lobby
  • Arrow wall decals: Groopdealz
  • Bunting: Lilly James Co.
  • Mason Jar sign: Prim and Proper
  • Photo canvas: Printicular Canvas App via Walgreens

{around the house}

It has been a really good week for my little blog. Lots of new followers and lots of views thanks to some really great press. I'm beyond thankful. It is really humbling, and can I admit, kind of scary{?!}, to see that almost 2,000 people looked at my blog in one day.

It creates a bit of panic for me to be honest.

Like..."O my goodness...what can I come up with next that will be JUST as popular as the last thing?"

As I was having one of those mini panic attacks last night, trying to think about what I should post next, a little voice told me to chill out.

"Just share something that makes you happy," it told me.

So here you go...lots and lots of things in our home that are making me happy today...

The last three photos are from some much-needed decorating I did in our bedroom yesterday. Why is it that the room that is supposed to be your sanctuary always gets helped last? It put a huge smile on my face to go to bed last night and have a prettier view.

What are your favorite things to look at in your home today?

{Dreamy Bedroom with World Market}

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™, but all my opinions are my own.

One room in our house that hasn't received a single bit of decorating since we moved in three years ago is our master bedroom. Typical, right?

I take that back...we did get new nightstands from IKEA a year or so ago, but that is the only change we've made. And it is in desperate need of some color and personality. Here are a few pictures of its current state...

Not too bad, but just very plain and boring. I love the nightstands and dresser. And the tree artwork over the bed is lovely, but still very plain.  It needs some color!

So I put together a little inspiration board of the dreamy bedroom I would put together if I could go on a shopping spree at World Market...

It all started with this lovely artwork. I'm a sucker for landscapes and this one is so pretty with its gold, green and blue hues. I worked with those colors for the accessories, including a warm gold velvet pillow, blue silk bolster, a cozy throw, and a fun pouf for some small-scale seating {our bedroom is TINY}.

But let's not forget the basics, right? How about a new bed and some husband friendly bedding?

I'm drooling over this grey tufted bed. LOVE it. And this duvet set has a great pattern but is still neutral and masculine enough for my husband to enjoy, and to allow many different colorful accessories.

And I almost forgot curtains! Our current boring brown ones would be replaced by these lovely peacock blue velvet panels...
