{goodwill tray makeover}

I made a little trip to Goodwill yesterday and came away with some great finds. One of them was a metal file tray for $3.99.

I knew right away that I wanted to use it on my craft desk. My washi tape collection has grown larger than my previous storage for it can handle, and I also needed a place to store my jewelry making supplies. A can of cream spray paint was all it needed!

I used a few pieces I already had to hold my washi tape, as well as a fun new milkglass piece I picked up when I bought the tray.

The bottom tray is perfect for holding my jewelry making supplies...

And now I don't have an excuse for not buying more washi tape, right? {wink}

Have you transformed any Goodwill finds lately? I'd love to see them!

{DIY button flowers}

A few years ago, I bought the cutest button flowers at a local craft show. They looked fairly simple to make so I took a shot at it and came up with these...

Pin It
These are super simple and you only need a few supplies...

I like to use three different sized buttons for mine, and make sure they have large enough holes for the floral wire to fit through.

Start by threading all three of the buttons onto the wire...

Next pull through quite a bit of the wire, bend it back toward the buttons, then thread it back through...

Twist the wire together tightly at the base of the buttons and wrap the loose end around until it is all wrapped together...

And that's it! I love how these turned out...

You can really have fun with this project...there are SO many different colors and types of buttons you can use. Hope this has inspired you to make a few of your own!

{april insta-life album}

April's insta-life album was so much fun for me. It came together so easily, and it didn't hurt to have some new supplies to play with...

Past albums: January // February // March

If you have any questions about the supplies I used, leave them in the comments!

{February Insta-Life Album}

OK, so this is my new favorite crafty thing, friends.

I put together my February Insta-Life album on Sunday and it was so much fun. You can see last month's by clicking the photo below...

My basic formula for these albums so far has been:

6x6 paper +
4x4 insta photo {I print mine through the Printicular app} +
washi tape +
Tag or sticker for journaling +
optional extra embellishments

They come together super quick. This album is 20 pages and took me only a few hours to put together.

Here is a peek inside my February album!

These little books satisfy my scrapbooking urge, and are also really great therapy for me. Something about flipping through the pretty papers, picking out matching tape, tags & stickers, and putting everything together that relaxes my mind and brings joy to my heart.

Do you scrapbook your instagram photos? I'd love to see how you document them!
