{saturday morning}

Posting this a little late, but I had to share these pics of Landon helping me make blueberry muffins yesterday morning...

He is such a good little helper. And he really, really liked the batter. :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

{handbag love}

I used to have quite the handbag obsession.

And then I had twins. And a big old diaper bag replaced my cute purses.

But these bags from amykathryn bring back those old feelings in a big way. How cute are these?!

My birthday is only 5 months away you know.

{quite an adventure}

I don't talk much about our cats on the blog, but for those of you who don't know, we have two furry members of the family. Melvin is our 11 year old orange tabby, and Chloe is a 5 1/2 year old Siamese.

They are indoor cats, but since we moved to this house, we started to let them venture outside a bit. Melvin always stays close to home, but Chloe tends to wander father away.

On Saturday I let her outside around lunch time.

Fast forward to last night when she FINALLY came home!

Oh my goodness that cat about gave me a heart attack. I thought for sure that she had either been taken in by someone else {that is what I had hoped}, was lost somewhere outside or that the worst had happened {we don't need to go there}. I was completely prepared for her to never return, but last night, I opened the front door, and in she ran! And not a hair was out of place.

This was the best picture I could get of her...she was all over the place!

After hugging and squeezing on her for a few minutes I scolded her and asked her where she had been all that time. I sure wish she could tell me. Turns out that one of our neighbors is also missing their Siamese...a male. Before she came home last night I was picturing the two of them out together, like rebellious teenagers, hunting for mice and begging for food at random stranger's houses. I hope that their little guy comes home soon too!

Love that little girl of mine...and I'm glad to not be the only female in the house again!

I was looking through my recent pins today and I think it is safe to say that I kind of love turquoise and green together...

{weekly lovelies}

So I recorded another video blog! Yay me! :)

I decided from now on I will call them "weekly lovelies" because that is basically what they are. The lovely things I'm enjoying for the week.

But before you watch...a few disclaimers...

1. There is a weird static-like background noise and it is a little hard to hear me. Grumble.
2. At the end, I wave with both hands, and it looks more like I'm trying to molest you. Note to self...work on my video waves.
3. You could play a drinking game with how many times I say "Valentine's Day"

So with that out of the way here we go...

Recap...

1. The Grammy's {really just Adele}
2. My not really a Valentine's Day present from the hubby
3. Heart ring from Groopdealz
4. Candy, candy, candy!
5. New scarf and flower pin from Kathleen!

Here is my scarf...love it!

What are you loving this week?

{these boys}

They will be 4 years old in 4 1/2 months.

They are wearing 4T {Ben} and 5T {Landon} clothing. Size 10 shoes.

They can reach the top shelf of the refrigerator.

They can go to the bathroom all by themselves {when they want to}.

They are learning how to write their letters and numbers.

They are obsessed with superheros.

Ben is our clown. Charmer. Flirt.

Photo from March 2011
He loves to read books. His new favorite is a superhero book his Daddy bought him. He has slept with it for the past two nights. He also loves to read this Bible. Whenever it mentions "God" he'll reply "We can't see God." So sweet...still working on that concept but I think he kind of gets it.

Landon is our sweetheart. Stubborn. Goofy.

Photo from March 2011
He loves to play Spiderman and shoot his pretend web all over the house. His vertical jump is about 1 inch...he is a tad on the stocky side. He makes up for that with his hand eye coordination. Boy can hit a ball! He is into drawing his letters right now...he has mastered the A, F, L and H.

They will start preschool in the fall.

And I'm not ready. But their Dad is REALLY not ready.

They still like to snuggle with their momma.

And for that I'm so grateful.

How did I get so lucky to have these two beautiful faces to come home to every day? We may not be able to see God but I know that He has truly blessed me.

But first I want to say thank you for all of the sweet comments you all left on my first video blog post. I will definitely do more!

{IKEA storage solution}

It is no secret {or maybe it is to you} that my husband and I aren't the best organizers on the block. Or perhaps the planet.

For lack of a better word, we suck at it.

And once the boys were added to the house...well... it was game over on keeping up with the many areas of life that require organizing.

But this year I am finally making a commitment to organizing our house...as daunting as that task seems. So I started out small with the help of some great little containers from IKEA. I love these things! For $8 you get six nylon collapsible {they zip!} containers that work for just about any small storage you can think of.

My first purpose in mind when I bought these was to corral all of our medication which had taken over a few shelves in one of our kitchen cabinets. I should have taken a before pic because it was baaaad. But here is the lovely after...

One of the larger ones is for the boys, and the other two are for the assortment of medications the hubby and I use.

Then I needed to figure out what to do with the other three. My next stop was the bathroom, where my hair ties and other random hair paraphernalia had taken over every corner of our two drawers. {again...no before pic because it was scary}...

Ahhh....much better!

And while I was in the bathroom, I took one of the two biggest containers and threw all of the boys' bath toys in that sucker. Perfection. And since it is nylon it is the perfect material for those wet watering cans and Thomas the Train squirters...

And finally I had one more large bin left. Hmmm....what do to....

It became a new home for the boys' favorite books that we keep in the family room. It is the perfect size to fit on the shelf of our vintage typewriter table, and so far the boys have been good about putting them back {when encouraged of course}.

So there you have it...four different storage solutions for $8. Not too shabby, huh?
