I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I have been avoiding a lot of the news about the earthquake in Haiti.
I tend to avoid things that I know will bring out all of those scary emotions, especially seeing photos of injured, or worse, deceased, children. I can't bring myself to look at or read about the horror those poor people are facing.
I also must be honest and say that I have a hard time donating my money to charitable causes of any kind with how tight our money is these days. Selfish? Yes, absolutely, and I'm not proud of it. But I know that I'm not the only one who has a hard time fathoming that this is a REAL situation that actual people are experiencing.
And just this morning when I was thinking about how I need to let go of my selfish tendencies, take off my blinders, and do something, I read this.
And then I went here...
Hope for Haiti
Some wonderful artists have donated goods and services for a raffle to raise money for the people of Haiti. I encourage you to visit like I did and participate in the raffle - even $1 can make a difference! And if you have something you can donate to their raffle, I'm sure they would welcome it!
I know that I could do so much more, but this is a start. Won't you join me?

It is a very tough thing to watch, I agree with you!
Thanks for sharing this! What a great idea!
I have similar feelings to you. Money is also an issue for me, and I'm always sad that I can't do more.
Plus I'm always worried about the money actually going to help the people. There is so much corruption, etc in some of these organizations and/or countries.
I came across Hope for Haiti the other day though & really loved the idea. I hope they get a lot of money together to help those people.
One thing that helps uplift me during this, is the huge amount of support. It seems everyone wants to help which is amazing!
