There are few things that I love about winter, but one of them is wearing tall boots with a cozy pair of tights and a skirt...which has become my winter work wardrobe. Some people think I'm crazy for wearing a skirt when it is 10 degrees outside, but I find it much warmer than a pair of dress pants and flats that let the snow and cold air in.
It is super cold out today and we have a decent blanket of snow on the ground so I pulled out my brown leather/suede Bjorn boots that I got for a steal a few winters ago - I think I paid $30 for them on clearance. I paired them with black tights, a tan skirt, black sweater and cream dressy t-shirt. Who says you can't wear brown with black? I don't wear these often...usually I stick to my dressier tall brown or black boots, but these are great on a really cold winter day.

And because I think it is weird to post just a photo of my legs, here is my upper half today. Hello blog friends!
I have been dying to add a pair of gray boots to my wardrobe, for the last three winters actually. It is so difficult to find a pair of simple gray boots that aren't $200 + though.
I finally ordered a pair from Sears and got them in the mail yesterday...I was sooo excited to try them on. But they were a huge FAIL. Too tight and just not quite the right style. So, back to the drawing board I go. Here are a few more options that I might try...
These from Aldo are cute and are on sale right now which is a bonus...

Or these from Eddie Bauer which are significantly more $$ than I want to spend...maybe I'll find a spare $60 laying around the house...

I found a great pair searching through flickr that are from Target, but of course they are out of stock. Boo! Maybe they will restock them in a 9 1/2 just for me?!?! They are a tad clunky, but sometimes I want clunky. :)

Just for fun here are some cute photos of cute girls wearing gray boots. :) (all from flickr)

The last three are really making me want suede ones. I know the right pair will come along - hopefully before spring arrives!

Cute outfit! Target has gray boots, I have them in cognac and love them. Plus they are pretty cheap!

Brown can totally go with black. As Stacey and Clinton say, they are both neutral and as such can not possibly clash! I see it more and more often :)
When I was pregnant with Alex, my feet grew from a 9 to a 9 1/2 and I'm having a much harder time finding anything in that size!
